Land use planning should be mixed-use.

The major exception to this should have safety as the determining factor (e.g. hazardous waste areas), not an exclusive attitude of separating different people within society (e.g. homogeneous communities of homes all priced from $250K to $350K). Children need access to all strata and diversity of humanity. This will allow people from poor neighbors to observe role models from all walks of life.
